Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Security Engineer for of of the major banks in Oman.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain the bank’s network security infrastructure to safeguard against unauthorized access, cyber threats, and data breaches.
• Perform regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate potential risks and vulnerabilities.
• Monitor network traffic, security event logs, and intrusion detection systems to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and enforce network security policies, procedures, and standards.
• Stay up to date with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices in network security.
• Evaluate and recommend security technologies, tools, and solutions to enhance the bank’s security posture.
• Provide guidance and support to network administrators and other IT teams in implementing and maintaining secure network configurations.
• Conduct security awareness training and education programs for employees to promote a culture of security awareness and best practices.
• Participate in incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and recovery from security incidents.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, such as PCI DSS, GLBA, and other relevant standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CCNP Security are highly desirable.
• Proven experience as a Network Security Engineer or in a similar role, preferably within the banking or financial industry.
• Deep understanding of network security principles, protocols, and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs, DNS, and network segmentation.
• Strong knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS benchmarks.
• Experience with security assessment tools, vulnerability management, and incident response.
• Proficiency in network troubleshooting and analysis tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and network protocols.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
