Supervisor – Mechanical (Pipelines)

Job Description

This position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties in supervising the dismantling,
reassembly, installation, troubleshooting, repair, operation, and maintenance activities of pumping
stations, water transmission and distribution systems, and facility equipment. The role requires
expertise in water network pipelines and mechanical services in pump stations and water systems.

• Aware of the project budget and monthly targets along with cost breakup items.
• Manage the assets as per contract and ensure an uninterrupted water supply at all times.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance in line with contractual requirements
and manage leakages and breakdowns within stipulated timeframes.
• Supervise the dismantling, repair, reassembly, installation, and troubleshooting of various
pipeline types (DI/HDPE) and assets.
• Liaise with Project Manager/Site Manager to obtain and deploy necessary resources.
• Ensure all monitoring and measuring equipment used in the operational area is calibrated
and in good working condition.
• Maintain daily logs of activities and monitor and control reservoir levels according to
operational requirements.
• Handle material storage, handling, and accounting, including customer-supplied spares.
• Verify the condition/quality of materials and maintain records.
• Address customer complaints about leakages, water shortages, and meter errors, ensuring
activities are performed timely.
• Possess strong knowledge of water network pressure management, leak detection, and
network efficiency.
• Oversee Butt fusion & electrofusion work, rehabilitation work, and other technical
activities.
• Manage the team of operators and technicians to attend to breakdowns, shutdowns, and
emergencies, as well as preventive maintenance.
• Cooperate with the site team to maintain records of maintenance and service activities.
• Keep the Project Manager informed of unusual conditions or maintenance issues.
• Supervise and direct all maintenance personnel in accordance with established policies
and procedures.
• Ensure effective communication and cooperation within the team.
• Display proactive problem-solving and leadership skills.
• Negotiate and motivate subordinates effectively.
• Prepare and recommend specifications for equipment and material purchases.
• Provide technical support and report to the Maintenance Manager.
• Prepare method statements and liaise with the Client Engineer.
• Ensure equipment protection at all times.
• Observe health, safety, and environmental policies.

• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Experience in preparing maintenance reports and work orders
