Senior Engineer – Structures

Job Description

The Senior Engineer – Structures is responsible for leading the supervision,
execution, and quality control of structural and civil works at project sites. The
role includes interpreting technical drawings, overseeing construction activities,
ensuring compliance with engineering standards, managing resources,
coordinating with various stakeholders, and maintaining accurate documentation
for civil and structural engineering works.

  • Provide technical guidance and oversee daily construction activities for
    structural works
  • Monitor site progress and suggest corrective actions to resolve deviations
  • Guide supervisors and foremen on execution in line with approved
    drawings, specifications, and safety procedures
  • Plan and allocate manpower, materials, and equipment effectively
  • Conduct regular site inspections to verify quality and quantity of executed
    works, including scaffolding, painting, insulation, and civil structures
  • Interpret and apply structural, architectural, shop, and revised drawings
    using AutoCAD
  • Raise RFIs and ensure approvals for technical clarifications, layouts, and
    scope changes
  • Set out building and foundation layouts using surveying instruments
  • Supervise complex concrete works, including tanks, slabs, and shuttering
    operations
  • Apply waterproofing systems and oversee internal coatings for concrete
    surfaces
  • Execute civil works related to auxiliary and supporting structures
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards through inspections and testing
    methods
  • Coordinate with third-party agencies for material and structural testing
  • Maintain detailed concrete logs and verify quantities used at site
  • Review and prepare as-built drawings for utilities and civil infrastructure
  • Prepare method statements and work procedures for structural activities
  • Estimate quantities and prepare BOQs
  • Verify subcontractor invoices based on executed quantities
  • Monitor material stock levels and coordinate procurement planning
  • Optimize material usage to control wastage
  • Prepare and manage work permits in accordance with project HSE
    procedures
  • Review test reports and ensure compliance with contract requirements
  • Coordinate with design, planning, QA/QC, procurement, and site
    execution teams

Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BE – Civil)
