Equation Developer

Job Purpose:
The Equation Developer will be responsible for developing, modifying, implementing, and
maintaining Equation banking applications, ensuring seamless system integrations and
efficient messaging capabilities. This role requires strong expertise in AS400 development,
Equation APIs (H56, H46), MQ programming, and core banking modules. The developer
will collaborate with business teams to develop customized solutions, conduct comprehensive
system testing, and apply industry best practices in coding to enhance software quality and
maintainability.

Key Tasks and Duties:
1. Develop, modify, and implement AS400 applications using RPGLE, CLLE, and other
AS400 tools.
2. Design and integrate Equation APIs (H56, H46, etc.) for seamless system
functionality.
3. Optimize MQ programming and channel configurations to ensure secure and efficient
messaging.
4. Conduct thorough testing, including System Integration Testing (SIT), to verify data
integrity and system functionality.
5. Collaborate with business teams to develop customized software features and ensure
alignment with business requirements.
6. Analyze, design, and document system workflows, translating specifications into
efficient coding structures.
7. Ensure compliance with industry best practices for coding, security, and system
performance.
8. Troubleshoot and resolve application-related issues, ensuring smooth system
operations.
9. Participate in project meetings and provide technical guidance to stakeholders.
10. Maintain up-to-date documentation for all developments and enhancements.

Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
● Relevant certification in AS400 or IBM iSeries technologies (preferred).
