Job Description

We are looking for a technically skilled Drilling Data Management Specialist with expertise
in Landmark Compass to support directional well planning, survey data management, and
integration with the broader drilling engineering workflow. The ideal candidate will be
responsible for maintaining data accuracy, managing well trajectories, and supporting real
time and post-drill analysis.

• Manage and maintain well trajectory and survey data using Landmark Compass.
• Support directional drilling engineers in creating and validating well plans (2D/3D).
• Ensure seamless integration of Compass data with other Landmark tools (e.g.,
WellPlan, OpenWells) and corporate databases.
• Perform anti-collision analysis, error modeling, and build/hold/drop profile design.
• QC and validate field survey data received from MWD/LWD vendors and rig crews.
• Assist in creating end-of-well reports, including trajectory comparisons and final
survey exports.
• Standardize directional survey processes and naming conventions across
operations.
• Provide technical support and training to office and field personnel on Compass
usage.
• Collaborate with subsurface teams to ensure accurate positioning of wells relative
to geological targets and nearby wells.
• Maintain data quality standards in accordance with corporate and regulatory
requirements.
Proficient in Landmark Compass and other EDM suite tools (OpenWells, WellPlan,
etc.).
• Solid understanding of directional drilling concepts, survey calculations, and anti
collision principles.
• Familiarity with MWD/LWD data formats and survey validation techniques.
• Advanced proficiency in anti-collision management, including separation factor
analysis and proximity alert setup.
• Experience with geospatial tools (e.g., ArcGIS, Petrel, or Spotfire for spatial data
visualization).
• Familiarity with WITSML standards for real-time drilling data exchange.
• Experience integrating Compass with third-party tools like Peloton WellView,
OSIsoft PI, or OpenSpirit.
• Exposure to machine learning or data analytics projects related to wellbore
trajectory optimization.
• Experience working on complex well profiles (e.g., ERD, multilaterals, or HPHT
wells).
• Landmark certification or formal training in Compass, EDM, or WellPlan.

Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geosciences, or an Engineering-related field.
