Middleware Specialist

Job Purpose
To lead the integration and technical development of middleware applications supporting the
bank’s IT infrastructure, ensuring secure, efficient, and scalable communication between
disparate systems. The Middleware Specialist is primarily responsible for designing, developing,
and supporting APIs and integration services using IBM middleware technologies.

Key Tasks and Duties
 Design, develop, and maintain integration services and APIs using IBM App Connect
Enterprise, IBM MQ, IBM DataPower, and IBM API Connect.
 Provide technical support for middleware solutions across various IT projects, including
configuration fixes, testing, and performance enhancements.
 Perform system monitoring, operations support, and data implementation tasks for customer
environments.
 Ensure maintenance activities and emergency responses are carried out to uphold system
health and minimize downtime.
 Investigate and resolve production incidents, conduct root cause analysis (RCA), and adhere to
escalation protocols.
 Maintain compliance with IT project delivery standards including peer reviews, security,
incident, and problem management processes.
 Implement and manage middleware security procedures in alignment with data privacy and
operational policies.

 Act as a liaison between infrastructure and application teams to facilitate successful
integration and system support.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Design, development, and ongoing support for APIs and web services enabling system
integrations.
2. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between infrastructure and application teams for
middleware lifecycle management.

Qualification
 Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
