Job Description

Job Purpose
The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and overseeing project schedules,
ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and within budget. This role involves coordinating with
various stakeholders, preparing progress reports, identifying project risks, and ensuring that the project
remains on track from a planning and resource allocation perspective. The Planning Engineer ensures
effective resource management and contributes to the overall success of the project by optimizing
timelines, minimizing risks, and ensuring that project objectives are met.
.Key Tasks and Duties

Project Planning & Scheduling:
● Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using planning software (e.g., Primavera P6,
MS Project).
● Prepare work breakdown structures (WBS), identify key milestones, and set project timelines.
● Monitor project progress and update schedules to reflect actual progress, delays, or changes.
● Ensure the efficient allocation of resources (labor, materials, equipment) to meet project
deadlines.
● Identify potential bottlenecks or delays in the project and suggest corrective actions.
Coordination & Reporting:
● Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other departments to ensure alignment of
project schedules and goals.
● Prepare regular project status reports, including updates on timelines, costs, and resources.
● Monitor and track project performance against set schedules and budgets, providing
recommendations for optimization.
Risk Management:
● Identify project risks related to timelines, resources, and budget.
● Develop mitigation strategies to reduce the impact of delays and other risks.|
Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or a
related field.
