DC Technician III

The Data Centre Technician III will serve as the technical liaison between technology teams and the data centre environment. The role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing infrastructure systems, ensuring high availability, and supporting both hardware and software across servers, networking, and storage environments.

• Serve as point of escalation for technical issues, providing 2nd-level support for complex infrastructure problems.
• Participate in installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of production server hardware and software.
• Perform replacements of failed components (e.g., hard drives, DIMMs, switches, cables).
• Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity and basic switch issues.
• Replace AOC, QSFP, MPO, and Cat6 cables as required.
• Conduct base operating system installation and assist with OS/application upgrades, bug fixes, and patching.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for supported technologies.
• Execute small-scale projects independently; assist managers on planning/executing larger projects.
• Drive process adherence, continuous improvement, and automation initiatives.
• Work within a 24/7/365 shift rotation and on-call roster.
• Ensure compliance with data centre standards, including racking/stacking, cabling, cooling, and power management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline (preferred).
• Equivalent professional certifications and hands-on technical experience may be considered.
